1990 MITSUBISHI Eclipse GSR-4
First generation japan-imported Eclipse.
So much is known about the history that it was sold new in Japan. There were 3 owners in total.
I bought it from an japan-importer here in Estonia and owned it for about 3 years.
4G63T petrol engine 145kw (its the same engine that was in the Evo's, 6-bolt)
4-speed automatic gearbox with overdrive
The engine and gearbox work beautifully. No leaks.
I also did maintenance about 350km ago:
- Engine oil + filter
- NGK Spark plugs
- Air filter
- New battery
- New serpentine belt (old one was squeeky)
- Replaced fuel filter
Contents:
Original fabric seats inside, the stitching is not broken. The wheels on the pictures are not original, but I do have the original wheels. There is a common problem with dashboards on these Eclipses, the dashboard "sticks out" of the edges, its pretty noticable on the pictures.
Body:
The car was repainted into its original color, because when I got it, it had sunburnt paint. They said that with such an old car you have to do this work very carefully, so they didn't start sanding anything, etc.
Corrosion protection was done after I bought it.
I believe I can also pass the inspection myself because everything works as it should. Handbrake, headlights, taillights, turn signals, signal, wipers, window washers, seat belts.
When I got it from an importer, the inspection was still valid.
A beautiful car, in which you can do a lot with your own hands. Spare parts are hard to find. but you can still do it.
Consumable parts are cheap (brakes, oils, belts, spark plugs, etc.)
